Short version: as this page is built, the site collects nothing about you and asks your browser to contact nobody. The detail below says exactly what that means, what the host can still see, and what changes the day advertising is switched on.

No third-party script loads on any page of this site today. Every program that runs here was written by us and printed into the page itself: the ZIP Code lookup, and nothing else. It reads an index that is already on the page, so it makes no request of any kind after the page has loaded.

This paragraph is not a promise about our intentions. It is printed from the list of outside services the pages are built from, and a check in the build compares that list against the delivered markup in both directions: a service named here and absent from the pages fails the build, and so does a script in the pages that is not named here. When display advertising and a page counter are switched on, they appear in this list by the same mechanism that puts them in the pages.

Nothing is bid on, sold, or measured about your visit. When a network is switched on, the paragraph above will name it and the host your browser will contact.

Cookies and storage

This site sets no cookies and uses no local storage. Typing a ZIP Code changes the address bar so the answer can be bookmarked or shared; that stays in your browser.

What the host sees

The site is served by Cloudflare Pages. Like any web host it processes the request itself — your IP address, the page requested, your browser string — to deliver the page and to block abuse. We do not receive those logs as a report and do not use them to build a profile of anyone.

One host feature can make this page wrong without anyone editing the site: Cloudflare's email obfuscation rewrites any address printed in a page and inserts a small script of its own to undo the rewrite in your browser. It must stay switched off for this domain. That is why the build check reads markup rather than intentions, and why the delivered response is compared with the built file byte for byte before a release: on a sister site this feature replaced the contact address and added a script to every page after every check had passed.

Do Not Sell or Share My Personal Information

We do not sell personal information and we do not share it for cross-context behavioral advertising, as California's Consumer Privacy Act uses those words. If advertising is switched on, the advertising network's use of cookies may count as sharing under that Act; the network's own consent and opt-out controls apply, and you can also write to us at the address below to ask what we hold, which today is nothing beyond a message you have sent us.

Children

This is a reference about school district boundaries, written for the adults who need to know where a line runs. It is not directed to children under 13, we do not knowingly collect anything from them, and the site asks no one for a name or an address.

Contact and email

If you write to hello@districtbyzip.com, we keep the message and your address for as long as it takes to answer, and delete it afterwards. Ask us to erase it sooner and we will. That address is a mailbox on this domain and is read by a person.
